This little guy is so sweet and very brindle. At ten weeks he is a
solid little puppy and will be 8-10 pounds full grown. He is fun loving and
a great family pet.

Do you think that the females make better pets. So did I until I was proven
wrong.
The male Shih Tzu if neutered at a young age is a far better pet. He is so
sweet, loving and always ready for play, etc. Everyone that has ever had a male
comes back for another. I have people that don't want females
because they have experience the companionship of a male and they know what it's
really like. Females can still be a little moody and some what distant even
after they have been spayed, just like us humans. So before you decide you have
to have a female instead of a male, do your research and you will find out what
I'm talking about. Male Shih Tzu 's are snuggle muffins, and my
Mr. Buttons is the perfect example!

"THE BEST AGE TO BOND WITH YOUR PUPPY"

So when does this bonding start? Nature itself starts breaking the mother-puppy
bond when the puppy is fully weaned. Puppies look to those who bring food and
safety to establish a new bond. This is when the human--puppy bond begins
puppies have baby teeth and can eat on their own, the dam usually will move away
from the puppies more often, to avoid the sharp little teeth. This is the time a
wild dog would begin to hunt for her puppies and this is when the... breeder
becomes the primary food source for the puppy. And this age is usually around 6
weeks. Pet professionals and many who also train their own dogs, have agreed
that the younger puppies train more easily and bond to new owners more closely
when placed between 6 and 10 weeks of age."
From years of experience, Exotic Shih Tzu has found that the ideal
age for puppies to go to their new homes is at 8 weeks, providing that they are
2 pounds. Our vet demands this and our puppies are always
vet-certified. |

 As
a new puppy owner, a few things to know after your puppies have gone home with
you. Our puppies need to be monitored closely the first few days in their
new home to make sure they are eating and drinking, and pooping properly. This
is vital! Sometimes the change in environment and water can up set there
whole world.

your puppy stops eating or is just nibbling, call me immediately! 239-300-0046
Having some boiled ground up chicken on hand is perfect.(
Tiny type Shih Tzu sometimes need Gerber strained meat chicken, (only chicken).
If they won't eat the baby food, we always send you home with a tube of
Nutri-Cal as a dietary supplement to add to the ground up chicken. Follow the
directions on the tube, and pay close attention to your new puppy.
Feeding
your puppy quality food made with a high protein diet is always recommended, but
these days my trust in dog food is minimal. Puppy food is made to keep
your puppy happy and healthy, but beware of the list of recalled puppy food and
use Holistic type foods, Canine Caviar is awesome, and they love the taste of
it. For me, your breeder home cooked doggie recipes are best, and totally
safe. We STRONGLY suggest you don't change your puppy food or eating habits,
during the first ten weeks (unless there is and eating disorder). Any changes
made should be done over a gradual amount of time to prevent diarrhea and a
upset digestive system. Let me direct you as to how this process needs to be

We Highly
recommend that Shih Tzu puppies be fed home cooked chicken, yogurts, and cottage
cheese, mixed in with their dry dog food. This can make them finicky
eaters, BUT my Shih Tzu's are spoiled rotten, so what the hell, I would not want
to eat smelly dog food everyday and neither do they. Please follow through with
the recommendations I give you and he or she will be the love of your family,
and live a safe happy life for years to come!
